About a year ago, I created a Facebook page called Holtville Social.
At the time, I honestly wasn’t sure what I wanted it to become. I just knew there was something missing.
Like many people in our community, I would often hear about an event after it had already happened. I’d see photos online and think, “I wish I had known about that.” Whether it was a fundraiser, a school event, a local gathering, or a new business opening, it seemed like there wasn’t one central place where our community could stay connected. The Facebook groups are great and I love them but they become overwhelming with posts.
I also knew something else—I love Holtville.
I love the people here. I love the small-town atmosphere where neighbors still know each other, where Friday night football brings everyone together, where local businesses support one another, and where community still matters.
That love for this community is what inspired Holtville Social.
Today, this page has a purpose.
Holtville Social is more than a website or a Facebook page. It’s a place dedicated to celebrating everything that makes our hometown special.
You’ll find local events, community stories, school achievements, business spotlights, youth sports, family activities, nonprofit organizations, church events, and the people who quietly make a difference every single day.
Most importantly, Holtville Social isn’t about chasing headlines.
There are plenty of places to find breaking news, emergencies, and negativity.
That’s not who we want to be.
Our mission is to share the good news. In every way!
We want to celebrate victories, encourage our neighbors, support local businesses, recognize students and teachers, highlight volunteers, and make sure no one has to say, “I wish I’d known about that.”
We believe communities become stronger when people are connected.
When families know what’s happening around town, they attend more events. When local businesses are supported, our community grows stronger. When students and volunteers are recognized, they feel appreciated. When neighbors celebrate one another, everyone benefits.
That’s the vision behind Holtville Social.
This isn’t just our page—it’s your community.
We invite you to be part of it.
If you’re hosting an event, opening a business, celebrating a milestone, raising money for a cause, recognizing a student, or simply have a story worth telling, we’d love to hear from you.
Our goal is simple: to keep Holtville connected, informed, and inspired.
Thank you for joining us as we begin this journey together.
